Project Description
The Arborist is a self funded passion project from Make Productions. The short film follows a thoughtful Arborist up into the canopy of a special tree and unearths what drives him to carry out his dangerous work. Make productions collaborated with french composer Julien Diaz to create an original score for this atmospheric short film set in an autumnal East Sussex, England.
The Arborist won first place film in the short film competition at the 2014 Films for the Forest and was screened as part of the South by Southwest Film Festival’s Community Screening event and SXSW ECO 2015 in Austin, Texas.
The Arborist has been selected for BBC Fresh. Fresh is a new BBC online space for short form documentary films. Fresh is giving upcoming factual filmmakers an opportunity to showcase their work on a BBC platform. Click here to watch The Arborist on Fresh.
